Introduction

Howdy guys, I posted about my 21 day, 500mg DNP run and a few people were interested in me updating them on the results so I decided I’d go ahead and make a post.

I was coming off of a bulk and had never tried DNP before but had done quite a bit of research on it. I always love experimenting so I decided to give it a try. I dosed 500mg every day for 21 days. I drank around a gallon of water a day and plenty of Powerade Zero. I took vitamin C as well around 1g a day. I was on a cruise does of 150mg Test E a week.

I noticed the side effects begin kicking in around day 3. I was radiating body heat and could feel it coming off me especially when I ate carbs. I sweated a decent bit but it was not the worst part. The worst part by far was the LETHARGY! I felt like I was about to die when I would have to climb one flight of stairs. Getting out of bed in the morning was absolute hell; it took all the energy in my body just to get off the bed. I was using a probably irresponsible dosage of Ephedrine at 50mg 2-3 times a day just to have energy to do day to day activities and curb the appetite. The carb cravings were terrible. I forced myself to eat 2,000 calories everyday to justify putting myself through this hell and it was the hardest experience of my life not eating even with Ephedrine. Now that I have come off, the will power gains I made are extremely helpful. I could eat 800 calories a day and not flinch because of the pain that 2,000 calories a day on DNP was. During this time I worked out for 1-2 hours a day everyday because I can’t not work out. Surprisingly when I got in the gym I was not lethargic as long as i got my blood pumping however my lifts went down ridiculously low.

Results

On to the results. I started at 207 lbs and in 21 days I went to 184lbs. I am now one week past the DNP run but am still eating at 2,000 calories a day because I do not want to be another binge and rebound statistic. After glycogen re-compensation I got to around 190 pounds and I believe I lost very little to no muscle mass. All in all about 17 pounds of fat lost after accounting for water weight in 21 days. The math checks out as well if I got a BMR increase of 50 percent from 500mg and my TDEE is around 3,000 while eating around 2000.

Conclusion

I was pretty happy with the results. Would I do it again? It was one of the worst experiences in my entire life. The results are good but it is literally hell while you’re on it. And I know I could have easily wasted it by binge eating because the cravings are so real. You can eat 3,000 calories of carbs and still be hungry because you’re body doesn’t register it as being eaten. You have to TRACK EVERYTHING you eat. I plan on cutting for about two more weeks and then I’m only going to lean bulk from now on so hopefully will never have to touch this hellish substance again.
